Tilah's Mum Chicken in Red Gravy @ Tilah's Mum Rose Chicken (Ayam Masak Merah Mak Tilah @ Ayam Ros Mak Tilah )

I have few friends asking that I post this recipe soon. This recipe is my mother's recipe. Not that I am singing my own mother's praises but most of the people who had tasted this dish, would end up asking for the recipe. I would say that this is my mother's signature dish. This was also one of the dish that I had prepared for my guests who came over to my house last weekend. I hope that you will enjoy this dish as much as they do and it will be worth it and just right for your pots, pans and taste buds.

Peanut Gravy @ Satay Gravy (Kuah Kacang @ Kuah Sate)

The traditional peanut gravy that goes with the traditional malay barbecued meat known as satay. Simply delicious.

Last weekend, I had a few close friends who came over to my place for a Hari Raya visit!

In the excitement of having them coming for the first time to my new home and with all the hassle of food preparation, I had not managed to take photographs for all the dishes that I had prepared on that day.

Chicken in Green Curry (Ayam Masak Hijau)

chicken cooked in malay version of the green curry.

It seems that I get more and more excited to post new recipes the last few days. Yesterday evening, I tried a new recipe Ayam Masak Hijau (Chicken in Green Curry). I had so many recipes in my computer archive but had not tried most of them. This recipe is one of them. Someone must have shared this recipe with me but I cannot remember who she is. She may be an ex-colleague.

Stir Fried Beef in Sweet Soya Bean Sauce (Daging Masak Kicap)

Yesterday evening, I had cooked up this dish, which IS my husband’s favourite. The recipe for this dish belongs to the professional chef whom my father married 40 years ago. Hehe… ;p who else but my beloved mother. **winks** I personally love this dish as a child and now so do my son.

Ants' Nest Biscuit (Biskut Sarang Semut)

Another recipe that I want to share which would be appropriate for this Hari Raya season is the recipe for Biskut Sarang Semut (Ants' Nest Biscuit). I have everything up and ready stored in my lappy so I don't want to hold it off. Some of us may need to top up our Hari Raya goodies for the still on-going Hari Raya season and this recipe might just be the right choice for them. These are quite popular amongst children and adults, I must say. Now, I have two empty containers whenever my guests leave the house. The containers for Honey Cornflakes and Ants' Nest Biscuit!

Sardines in Tom Yum Coconut Gravy (Sardin Gulai Tom Yum)

Whilst Muslims all over the world are still celebrating Hari Raya and halfway through visiting relatives near and far which included savouring of glorious, sumptuous and spicy array of dishes usually consisting of meat (mutton, beef and chicken), I had to just divert my taste bud for something fishy! Since I had not had the time to go to the market and do some serious marketing, I decided to look in my pantry cupboard for the cans of sardines which I always have in stock whenever I am up to something, well, fishy!!

Rose Biscuits aka Shaking Biscuits (Kuih Ros @ Kuih Goyang)

I have been very busy the past few days making sure that the preparations for the coming Hari Raya which is just a few days away, are all in order.

However, I did not waste any time to prepare more goodies for my guests. Yesterday afternoon, I managed to make the biscuits in the picture above and these, do not require baking. Again, good news for those who don't like baking but not so good news for those who dislike cooking or eating fried foods.
